Chamomile Lavender Oatmeal Epsom Bath Salt Recipe
One recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal milk bath.
You can add 1/4 cup of epsom bath salts to this to up the magnesium and boost your mood.
Stir dried milk, baking soda and ground oats together.Ā Add the lavender essential oil and stir together to break up any clumps.Ā Finally, stir in the dried chamomile flowers.Ā Divide oatmeal milk bath into your containers of choice.Ā I found the glass jars with wooden spoons at Hobby Lobby butĀ you could of course, use mason jars!Ā Or if you prefer, use a coffee filter or bath tea bag to package individual sized portions of the oatmeal bath milk. To use, add aboutĀ 1/2 cupĀ of the oatmeal milk bath to warm water and stir to dissolve.
The chamomile flowers will soften a bit and float during the bathĀ ā remove them orĀ crush them into small piecesĀ before draining the bath tub.
Whole fat dry milk provides moisturizing and softening benefits for skin.
Rosemary & Lemon Epsom Bath Salt Recipe
1 1/2 cups salt* 4 tablespoons of olive oil Juice of 1-2 lemons Zest of one lemon 2 sprigs of rosemary
*Lets start with salt. There are many different kinds of salt out there with various healing properties to them. For this recipe I recommend Epsom Salt or Magnesium Salt for the great health benefits of helping muscle and nerve function and reducing inflammation in the body. If you donāt have those lying around, rock salt or sea salt can substitute just fine.
Honey & Oatmeal Epsom Bath Salt Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup of oats 4 to 6 tablespoons of raw honey 1/3 cup Epsom salt optional 4-8 drop essential oil
Directions:
1. Start by adding the cup of oats to your blender, grinder or food processor and breaking them down untilĀ they are a finer powder. Ā I made this pretty fine as it helps everything simply wash down the drain at theĀ end of the bath and there is little to nothing to wipe or clean up after the bath. Ā You can certainly leaveĀ them whole or break down less if you prefer. 2. Leaving the oats or powdered oats in the blender start toĀ add in the honey, I did a little bit at a time. Ā My goal was the balled up crumbly look that you see here inĀ the fourth image (and not a paste). Ā I ended up adding 6 tablespoons, there was a big difference inĀ appearance between the 3rd and 4th tablespoons to the 6th so just add as much as you like. 3. Once you hit thisĀ crumbled up stage with the oats and honey add in the Epsom salt and quickly pulse or turn on again forĀ just a few seconds to mix everything together, you donāt really need to break down the salt and it looksĀ pretty whole. Ā You can enjoy right away or store it in an air tight container until youāre ready to use it.
Pick your favorite epsom bath salt recipe to use inĀ your spa gift baskets to give as gifts this holiday season!
